What a fun night we had with friends – a dinner party before was so nice for everyone to meet up, we trick-or-treated and then headed to the church Harvest Carnival. You’ll see the very handsome and awesome drummer in the pictures of the Praise Band at the Carnival.

Pumpkin Festival

We had such a nice time last weekend going go to the Pumpkin Festival at the Desert Botanical Garden! They had hay rides to the pumpkin patch and then tons of pumpkins for the kids to pick out. All kids under 12 got to pick a pumpkin as a part of admission  . Very fun!

The last day of water parks was Labor Day weekend and we had the best time (it is absolutely crazy that everything shuts down here after Labor Day for ’summer’ activities – yeah, like 100 this last weekend isn’t hot enough for people to want to go to a water park!?!). Anyway, we came back from our honeymoon anniversary and then had a fun day planned with the kids on our final day of the long weekend. We bought memberships last Christmas as a present to the kids so we had a membership all summer. It was so nice to go for part days and not feel pressured to spend all day there … it’s crazy expensive for one day but that’s another story. Anyway, we’re thankful for these advance purchases to enjoy until the end. We certainly used it!!!

Anniversary Memories

Fun times in Sedona … seems like so long ago now but it was only 6 weeks ago when we celebrated our 17 yrs of marriage by going to Sedona for the weekend.
We enjoyed dinner out …

It was nice to have a weekend away. I love my guy so much … I really think it gets better every year   Praise God.
       


Science Center – Day off from School

The Nose Knows?

Whatever! Not My nose.  I’ve been down for 4 days from a bloody nose that didn’t stop bleeding last Wednesday.  A trip to the ER and 6 hours later a lovely ‘packing’ – which the P.A. nicely called a Rhino Rocket – it seemed about 4 inches long and really was like a rocket exploding in my nose and after inserting he had to ‘blow it up’ to fill my nasal cavity … nice, huh. I still have a horrible headache & pain today.  Antibiotics that made me sick and then no where to go to get a new prescription because the ER doesn’t do any follow-up care or want anything to do with you after you ‘checkout’. Our healthcare system really is lovely, isn’t it? It’s not been good. I’ll be glad to get this thing out on Monday. My nose knows nothin’. Praying for a one time, non-issue and no infection when seeing the ENT Dr. on Monday. 
UPDATE:

Ok … so Monday went well. I have to say the expression ’slicker than snot’ takes on an entirely new meaning to me now. WOW. That was somethin’. Certainly an event to try to forget. I am so very very thankful for my nose that is now almost back to it’s normal size. Praise God. 
       


Spa Parties

Don’t you just want to have a spa party!?!? I’m having a great time with my traveling spa kit with hand treatments, facials and foot soaks  . It’s been so much fun to meet new people and encourage women to do something good for themselves … both externally for their skin as well as internally … it just feels great to gather with women friends!

Wow, a milestone, 200 posts on my blog today   It’s interesting to look at the stats too … how many people actually read it.  What is the purpose of a blog? Who does actually reads it? Do inquiring minds even want to know our random details & thoughts? I’ve pre-scheduled 3 more posts after this so we’ll see if I can keep the pace. I go in spurts … when downloading pictures. Someday, when I get a “smart” phone … (or I just get “smart”), I might just keep up to date and post more, but for now … it is what it is … 200 posts   and going.  Thanks for those of you who read and who comment.  It’s nice to ‘keep in touch’ virtually.
